Ceramics Studio Use and Guidelines

All enrolled students are welcome to use the studio throughout the term, to practice the skills they are developing in class. But you don't have to take a class to use the art studio. We have several options for guests who would like to work independently in the studio on clay projects.

Day Passes

Cost: $10
Available any time. Spend an hour or an afternoon making gifts or goodies. You'll have full use of all our studio gear during business hours that day, and we'll fire your work for you. You could get another Day Pass to glaze your pieces, or perhaps use our Raku Kiln for something extra special!

Walk in, purchase your Day Pass, and get right to work! No reservations necessary.

The Monthly Pass

Cost: $105
Available any time. This pass entitles you to One Calendar Month of studio use. If the studio happens to close (i.e. holidays, State Fair, ice storms), we're always happy to make up those lost days. Your month begins on the first day you come in and use the studio. Purchase a monthly pass at the WAC or right here online.

The "Punch Card" Pass

Cost: $105
Available any time. This all new pass gives you 15 trips to the studio. It's good for up to 6 months. This is our most flexible option and has quickly become our most popular studio pass!

How it works: We'll make you a punch card and store it right there at the WAC. All you have to do is check in with the Studio Monitor whenever you come in. They'll punch your card and let you know if you're running out of visits. You're all set to enjoy the WAC whenever you get some free time!

Who Should Get a Studio Pass?

Open Studio Passes are intended for folks who do not need basic instruction about how to use clay and/or clay equipment. If you can work safely and independently on your own ceramics and pottery, a studio pass is right for you!

These passes are not intended for "volume" or Production Work. Artists who make or glaze more than one kiln load of bisqueware per pass will be asked to pay additional firing fees.

All of our Studio Passes entitle you to use the studio during our regular business hours. This includes kiln firing, glazes, and the use of all equipment.
