Volunteer Opportunities

There are all kinds of ways you can contribute to the WAC! We need volunteers for:

  • The Artisan's Village at the State Fair
  • Pottery Throw-A-Thons
  • Special Event Projects

If you (or your group, troop, or club) are interested in enjoying some art projects while serving the community, give us a call to see what opportunities are available! We make bowls and other pieces for several fundraisers, and Christmas ornaments for our annual "Afterglow" Tree (a fully-decorated Christmas tree, donated to a local shelter). We also need reliable, friendly volunteers for the Artisan's Village, to help man our Raku Pottery booth.

Even if we don't have a project in need right at this moment, we can put you on our mailing list and keep you informed! Send an email to info@friendsofvisarts.org and Get In The Loop!

Take Care of Oregon Days

The WAC joined dozens of other Oregon nonprofits for SOLV's "Take Care of Oregon Days" program in May. "TCO" is a statewide effort to encourage Oregon volunteers to come out and help beautify and improve our state. We registered our May Throw-A-Thon as an official TCO event. Our volunteers spent May 30th helping to improve Oregon through art, by making Empty Bowls to benefit the Marion-Polk Food Share.

Come join the fun! We will have more Throw-A-Thons this fall, not to mention Glaze A Thons, to finish up these wonderful bowls.
