Attention Everyone – Some Good News!
The WAC is going to hold a lottery which will allow you to come in and throw, hand build, trim, and glaze your work. There is no charge for the lottery and the rules are as follows:
- If you are interested in coming in to work, please send me your name and what it is you would like to do. We will allow two (2) people in to glaze; four (4) people to hand build; and four (4) to throw on the wheels.
- Each person will be allowed two hours to work from 10AM to 12PM or 12:30AM to 2:30PM.
- You must wear a mask and maintain a 6-foot distance between yourselves. Both the front door and one of the back doors must be open to maintain air circulation through the studio and the use of gloves is encouraged.
- All wheels and equipment are to be wiped down with a disinfectant at the end of your session. Those that choose to throw on the wheel will be given two time slots to allow them to return to trim their work.
We will use a rotation system so that everyone gets the same opportunity to come in and work. We hope to start the lottery in the next 7-10 days.
Beginning next week, we are asking anyone that has bisque ware to come in and glaze their work/pieces first. So, please submit your name ASAP to begin glazing you work. In addition, we have several finished pieces of pottery that need to be picked up and lots of very dry green ware that should be bisqued or recycled. Next Friday, May 22nd, this work will be considered abandoned and disposed of. We do not like to dispose of anyone’s work, but we have very limited storage and are often forced to recycle/throw out finished work due to the lack of space on shelves and carts.
Thank You,
The Staff
