Margrethe Gregg, April’s Featured Oaks Gallery Artist
Margrethe Gregg began her love of pottery in 1992 here in Salem, taking her first courses through Chemeketa Community College. After moving to Redmond she taught Community Ed pottery for several years at Central Oregon Community College before returning to the Salem area in 2002. At that time she began collaborating with her husband, Greg, on some of his sculptural work. Soon after returning to Salem, she began taking occasional classes at The Willamette Art Center and for about five years has attended The Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts near Victoria, B.C. In those workshops she has been inspired by artists like Rob Froese, Rick Mahaffey, Cathie Jefferson, Josh DeWeese, Vince Massey, Julia Galloway, and Lorna Meaden. She sells some of her pottery through her ETSY site, and some locally. She currently works out of Grisen Studio in West Salem with her husband Greg.
