Recent works by local artist, Stephen Hale are featured in the Oaks Gallery at the Willamette Art Center from February 1, 2015 to February 28, 2015.
Stephen Hale grew up in Salem, Oregon and graduated from Sprague High School. He is a master finish carpenter working on home construction and remodel with his family’s business. Stephen is a ceramic artist as well as a glass blower. Stephen instructs the Raku Classes at the Willamette Art Center, teaching a wide variety of techniques from traditional white crackle and metallic glazes to the more unique “Naked Raku” and horse hair firings. He is known for his large altered wheel thrown pottery with detailed combinations of textures and glazes. His most current works have been shown at the Elsinore Gallery and here at the Oaks Gallery.
