- SUPPORT US
All enrolled students are welcome to use the studio during business hours throughout the term, to practice the skills they are developing in class. But you don’t have to take a class to use the art studio.
10:00am – 8:00pm — Monday-Friday
10:00am – 5:00pm — Saturday
1:00pm – 4:00pm — Selected “Family Clay” Sundays
We have several options for guests who would like to work independently in the studio on clay projects.
Details: Available any time. Spend an hour or an afternoon making gifts or goodies. You’ll have full use of all our studio equipment during all non-reserved business hours, and we’ll fire your work for you. You could get another Day Pass to glaze your pieces, or perhaps use our Raku Kiln for something extra special!
How it Works: Walk in, purchase your Day Pass, and get right to work! No reservations necessary.
Details: This pass is valid for access to the studio any time during business hours when the studio is not reserved for scheduled classes, parties or special events. The Studio Pass is equal to 15 day passes, allowing you to use the equipment and studio space at the WAC. You can also share it with friends and family who may accompany you. This is our most flexible option and has quickly become our most popular studio pass!
How it works: We’ll make you a personalized pass and store it at the WAC. All you have to do is check in with the Studio Monitor whenever you come in. They’ll mark your card and let you know if you’re running out of visits. You’re all set to enjoy the WAC whenever you get some free time! The studio pass does not include clay or tools, and is subject to the WAC Firing Policy.
The Ceramic Arts require a lot of large, specialized equipment that is not easily accessible. Our studio provides:
All ceramics class fees include one 25-lb bag of clay and unlimited use of the WAC studio during your 8-week class period. We encourage all students to come on in and practice their new skills outside of class.
We offer Raku Firing during our scheduled Raku class — usually on Monday night (see class schedule for details). Up to three loads will be fired per night, as needed.
All are welcome to bring their Bisqued pottery for Raku Firing.
Open Studio Passes are intended for folks who do not need basic instruction about how to use clay and/or clay equipment. If you can work safely and independently on your own ceramics and pottery, a studio pass is right for you!
These passes are not intended for "volume" or Production Work.
All of our Studio Passes entitle you to use the studio during our regular business hours. This includes kiln firing, glazes, and the use of all equipment.
Meetings are held at the Willamette Art Center on the Oregon State Fairgrounds. Everyone is welcome to attend!
