WAC Spring Term Classes Postponed
Due to the recent increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases in Oregon and Marion county, the Board of Directors has agreed to close the studio for the rest of March and through the entire month of April. All spring term classes will be delayed until at least May and requests for refunds will be granted. We are working on a plan for the pickup of finished work and requests for clay to work from home.
I understand that this is a difficult time and many of you miss being able to escape to the WAC for some creative time together. But this virus is beyond anything we have had to deal with in our lifetimes. Hard decisions are being made every day that impact our family and friends, our streets are nearly deserted, and our stores have been stripped of canned goods, frozen foods and sanitary supplies. We Americans have grown accustomed to complete mobility and freedom and it appears as if that has been taken away from us and, to an extent, this is true. But it will pass, and we will get to the other side of this virus and be stronger for it.
The staff at the WAC is committed to keeping you informed as current events come to light. It is quite strange to enter the studio to complete silence, so please know that you are all missed. We look forward to having you all back as soon as possible.
Stay safe.
Roger Williams,
Executive Director and the WAC Staff
