Join us at the Oregon State Fair this summer!

For 11 days — from the last week of August through the first week in September — the Willamette Art Center sponsors the Artisan’s Village at the Oregon State Fair where artists and craftspeople vend their unique wares. We offer visitors an opportunity to paint a pot, have it raku fired, and pick it up within a few hours. This is the WAC’s main fundraiser of the year. It’s extremely popular and we always hear, “This is our family tradition” and “We paint a pot every year at the fair!”

Volunteers Needed

We need many many volunteers to cover our booth and firing center during the 11-day run of the fair. Jobs include cashiering, glaze instruction, and raku firing. No experience is necessary. We have clear instructions for each job.

Please sign up to support the WAC and enjoy helping kids of all ages create shiny treasures. Have a spouse or friend who would like to work with you? Great — sign them up too! The sign-up sheet is in the studio on the Special Events bulletin board near the desk. Volunteers receive a t-shirt and free admission to the Fair.

Thanks,

Artisan’s Village Team
