Community + Fair = Fun at the Marion County Fair!

Volunteers Needed! July 6 – 9

This event is a State Fair “request” (not a fundraiser) and an opportunity to support a positive fair relationship by filling 12 shifts over the 4 days (minimum of one WAC volunteer per shift; 3 shifts a day).

Shift Schedule:

  • 10:30 – 1:30pm (set up supplies)
  • 1:30 – 4:30pm
  • 4:30 – 7:30pm (move some supplies into studio)

Fair Entry:

Volunteers will receive entry passes or a 4-day wristband. Passes should be picked up from me before the fair opens Thursday, July 6.

Parking:

Handicap parking will hopefully be outside the yellow gate. My current information is that WAC volunteers may park in the lot across from the green gate (by the log cabin) on 17th. Enter through the green gate. (I will know more for sure this week.)

Booth Duties:

The shift requirement is to supervise the teens hired by the fair to manage the free rock painting and paper airplane activities. They should be able to assist the patrons on their own. They will work from 11:00am to 7:00pm each day. WAC volunteers should be free to demo on a wheel or hand-build for EB or AV near the activity booth. WAC advertising info will be available on a table near the demo spot to hand out.

Studio:

The WAC will remain locked. Demo’d pots will need to be stored in the studio. Volunteers for the 1st and 3rd shifts will need to have a key.

Sign-up Sheet:

A signup sheet is hanging by the studio door. If you can help, please sign up this week and see me for an entry pass or 4-day wristband.

Thank you for your support!
